IISc Course Feedback
Guidelines/Instruction steps for the Students
- Every student is strongly encouraged to provide feedback for ALL the courses registered by him/her. The average time required for filling in feedback for each course is about 5 minutes per course.
- Get the Course Feedback page using the link coursefeedback.iisc.ac.in.
- Login to the Course Feedback page using your IISc Mail ID (AD Mail ID) and Password.
- At the top of the feedback page, there is a drop-down list of all the courses the student has registered.
- The student is expected to provide feedback on all the courses that he/she has registered.
- After selecting a course from the drop-down list, the corresponding course number is displayed right below, and the student can proceed to fill out the "course feedback" by answering certain set of question by choosing one option.
- Similarly the feedback of the Instructor(s) for the same course needs to be provided by selecting the instructor from the instructor drop-down list.
- Filling the form and saving: Fill out the form by clicking the desired button. At the bottom of the form there are two buttons: "Save" and "Reset”. Clicking on Save button will save the feedback data and Reset button will clear the options.
- Filling the form and saving: Fill out the form by clicking the desired button. At the bottom of the form there are three buttons: "save" and "reset" (the "submit" button further below is disabled until all the forms are filled out for all the courses). Click the Save button to save the feedback data in the form. Each form can be saved any number of times while being filled out. The "reset" button clears all the entries. The progress of the feedback process is indicated on the top, in terms of the number of course content and instructor feedback provided out of the total number required.
- Once the feedback is saved, Click on Submit button for final submission of feedback.
- After the student completes filling in feedback on all the courses and the respective instructors and saves the feedback, the "submit" button will be activated.
- Click the Submit button for final submission of the feedback.
- Once the "submit" button is clicked, the student will not be able to log into the platform again. This is extremely important; the student should be absolutely sure before clicking the "submit" button.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The identity of the student is strictly not recorded or linked with the feedback data. This ensures complete anonymity of the student. The tool has been designed with features that guarantee this anonymity to even the system administrator.
Guidelines/Instruction steps for the Instructors
- This course and instructor Feedback portal can be accessed using the URL coursefeedback.iisc.ac.in.
- Click ‘SIGN IN’, to go to Sign-in page.
- Enter your own IISc (Active Directory) Email ID (Eg: abcd@iisc.ac.in) and password.
- After successful log in, you will be directed to home screen.
Note:
If you are also the Chair of the Department, you will be asked to select a role (Chair or Instructor). Select the Instructor role and you will be directed to the home screen
- Select the desired year, term and Course name to view student’s feedback for that particular course.
- In the same screen you can view your own feedback as Instructor Feedback along with the feedback of the course(s) you have offered.
Guidelines/Instruction steps for the Chairs (PG) / Associate Deans (UG)
- This course and instructor Feedback portal can be accessed using the URL coursefeedback.iisc.ac.in.
- It is recommended to click ‘About Feedback’ to read the detailed instruction steps before signing-in and generating the feedback reports.
- Click ‘SIGN IN’, to go to Sign-in page.
- Enter your own IISc (Active Directory) Email ID (Eg: abcd@iisc.ac.in) and password.
- After successful log in, you will be asked to select your role (Department Chair or Instructor).
- After selecting the role you will be directed to Home screen of respective roles.
- In the Department Chair’s Home screen, you will see the Feedback response summary of all the courses taught by the instructors of the department.
- To view feedback of a specific instructor, go to Type of Reports ->Individual Instructor Report.
- To view feedback of a specific course, go to Type of Reports ->Individual Course Report.
- For both the above report types, please click on ‘Export to file’ at the bottom of the page. Please make sure 'Allow Pop-ups from CourseFeedback' is enabled.
- After clicking on ‘Export to file’, the feedback data can be exported to PDF or Excel file. To download the PDF or Excel file, please click on this save icon
- If you are saving to excel file, the feedback data will be split in multiple tabs (sheet1, sheet2, sheet3) of the Excel sheet.
Note:
After clicking on 'Export to file', if report does not open in new tab, please follow below instructions.
- For chrome users, please click on 'pop-up blocked' at right top in the browser.
- Select 'Allow pop-up from courseFeedback', again click on 'Export to file'. Report will open in new tab.
